These charming apartments in Ortygia are modern and tastefully decorated with contemporary living and dining areas,
comfortable bedrooms and relaxing bathrooms. Most have a spacious balcony or a terrace where you can have breakfast
or relax. There are lots of choices for lunch and dinner, from the romantic restaurant on the sea to the typical
"trattoria" where you will taste Sicilian specialities. For those who prefer to create their own tempting
dishes, you can also take advantage of Ortygia's famous fish, vegetable and fruit market.
Suitable for both families and business travellers, the studio apartment can sleep two in the double bed and two
on the sofa bed, the one bedroom apartment can sleep two in its double bedroom and two on the sofa bed supplied
in the kitchen/living room. The two bedroom apartment can sleep two in its double bedroom and two in its twin bedroom.
In all the apartments a comfortable folding bed enough for one is available for an additional person. Bedlinen
and towels are provided, and are changed once a week.
All the apartments offer a well equipped kitchen with Fridge/freezer, Cooker, Microwave, Kettle and toaster and
extra facilities such as Satellite TV, Radio/CD Player, hairdryer, iron and ironing board to make your stay more
comfortable. Cots and highchairs for children are provided free of charge subject to availability, and a free WiFi internet connection is available. Air conditioning and heating make the apartments suitable for visits
at any time of the year.
There is a lift serving all floors making the Casa Salomone equally suited to disabled visitors. The friendly owners

For many thousands of years, Ortygia has been the historic
heart of Syracuse. This charming little island is full of charm and character, where one of the greatest pleasures
is simply to wander amongst the narrow medieval streets, packed with Baroque churches, attractive Piazzas and medieval
Palazzi.
Be sure to visit the impressive Palazzo Montalto (currently under restoration) as well as Corso Matteotti where
you will find clothes and show shops lining the street. The Piazza Duomo, lined with beautiful buildings and cafés
is perhaps the most attractive piazza in Ortigia, and a good place to stop and indulge in a spot of people watching.
In the evenings, why not join the locals for the ritual of passeggiata. As evening falls and the hot sunny days
give way to warm evenings, the Italians take a slow stroll through the main streets of the old town, usually in
the pedestrian zones in the centro storico, the historic center. The locals tend to dress up for the passeggiata,
and tourists are usually easy to spot in their shorts and t-shirts. The older generation can often be found sitting
along the streets sipping a beer or a glass of wine, and chatting amiably with their peers. Head towards the thirteenth-century
Castello Maniace which is a fortress sadly closed to the public, but the seafront from here back up the western
shore of the island, past the Fonte Aretusa, is lined with cafes, restaurants and trendy
Around Syracuse there are plenty of options for day trips. One of the best options is a day trip to the Baroque
town of Noto which is less than an hour away by bus. It's an interesting journey, past ruins, hills, lemon and
orange groves as well as the Greek Temple of Jove (to the right of the road). The vibrant city of Catania is an
easy train-ride away, and has plenty to occupy the tourist for at least a day. For those with cars, there are plenty
of other archaeological sites to explore in the surrounding area, as well as several beaches.
