La Finestra sul Duomo is a collection of just four apartments
on the first floor of a magnificent 15th century Palazzo, which dominates the beautiful Piazza Villelmi in the
picturesque town of Cefalù.
These four comfortable and fully-equipped apartments
are located in the town square opposite the extraordinary Norman-Arab-Byzantine Cathedral, one of the architectural
jewels of Sicily. From here it is possible to walk to the Mandralisca Museum, which hosts a famous painting by
Antonello da Messina; to start a walk up La Rocca, the hill overlooking the town from where a breathtaking view
of the coast from Palermo to Messina can be enjoyed; go for a swim in the clear, turquoise sea near the picturesque
local fishermen's port, or simply relax at one of the cafés lining the square and watch the world go by.
A stay at La Finestra sul Duomo allows guests to relish
the quiet pace of life in a small town enriched by cultural and historical touches, whilst at the same time younger
visitors can mingle with visitors from all over the world who fill the seaside pubs and clubs that organize exciting
events for the evenings. The apartments manage to combine their rich heritage with all the modern conveniences
one would expect, and offer an excellent base from which to explore Western Sicily. The Palazzo Villelmi itself
still boasts ancient features such as a simple corner window dating back to its origins with a little column in
the middle, and stands testament to the bourgeoisie taste from the Renaissance.
If you can't stay a whole week, B&B can be arranged
on a nightly basis subject to availability. For this option, breakfast arranged at one of the bars in Piazza Duomo
where you can sit outside and have a hot beverage (a choice between espresso, cappuccino or tea); a croissant or
similar pastry and fruit juice. If guests are staying just a few nights do not want to have breakfast, the B&B
price will be reduced by 3 per day.
WiFi internet connection is provided for free, and guests
can also arrange free use of the computer at reception, at staff discretion.

Cefalù is a maze of charming medieval streets that sit beneath a steep mountain, and for the more adventurous,
the view from the summit is absolutely superb. There are some good restaurants in the town center and near the
sea that offer a range of seafood and other local specialties, and a number of pizzerias. Cefalù also has
a nice public beach. As the cathedral and most museums are closed in the afternoon from 1 to 4 - a perfect time
to eat or go sunbathing or simply explore the charming maze of mediaeval streets. Ancient buildings of note include
the lavatoio (lavandai), a medieval wash house fed by freshwater springs, and the Osteria Magna (Great Guesthouse),
where King Roger stayed during his visits to Cefalù.
From Cefalù it is easy to travel to Palermo (by
convenient trains); to the magnificent Madonie mountains and their nature park; to all the main sites of Sicily
(Agrigento, Piazza Armerina, Catania, Taormina and the volcano Mount Etna) with organized trips or with public
buses; and also to the unique Aeolian Islands.
